After a few days regrouping (oh, and researching of course) in Turin, we're hitting the road again this week in Northern Italy, to explore the country's beautiful lakes, mountains, valleys, and vineyards, as part of our guidebook research. While we're staying in some exquisite hotels, unfortunately they don't always have great internet access - even when their websites say they do! - so if you don't hear from me, you know where I am. I'll get back to you with some more tales from the road and give you more of a taste of our experience of Italy as soon as I can.

Exquiste hotels make up for the lack of internet but it's odd that a nice hotel wouldn't have internet this day and age! Everyone usually offers it....
Hey Matt, if you want to be a travel writer, remember that 'offering' and 'delivering' are two different things when it comes to hotels! And we're talking five-star luxury properties. It's odd when a two- or three-star has no-fuss internet access, yet a Euro 500 a night place can't deliver the same. And when it comes to being business travellers (which is what we've finally realised we are!), internet promised and not delivered really sours the experience.
