Dubai Insider's Guide

Our Dubai Insider's Guide is now on the Nine MSN's travel site. Take a look here and let us know what you think. I'd be especially keen to know what any Dubai locals, expats and recent visitors to the city-emirate think and to hear your insider tips, favorite 'near the beaten track' things to do, and the things you recommend people avoid. I'm expecting our own suggestion to give the Burj Al Arab a miss will be controversial... You can leave comments on the site or let me know here.

Pictured? Expats relaxing by Dubai Creek. One of our favorite things to do on a weekend afternoon.

Hi Lara,

I like near the beaten track and boring bits the best. Although I have never been to Dubai, I’m sure that your tips and information will help any traveler enjoy a more authentic experience.

Ahh, how I miss the Emirates! I used to live in Abu Dhabi for two years and now reside in Beijing. I go back to AD about 2x a year and am amazed at how much I miss the lifestyle there. Keep up the good work. I have my own travel (somewhat) blog and I hope you don't mind if I post a link to yours.

Hi Shanal and Kamara - thanks so much both of you for the comments! Please email me the links to your blogs.

Kamara - I really miss living in the UAE also. The lifestyle there is really so easy and laidback compared to everywhere else. It gets so tiring being constantly on the road and when things become a bit hassley I always think how easy everything was in the UAE.
